Traveling with Pets to El Salvador: Import Regulations and Tips
Import Permits
To bring your dog or cat into El Salvador, you must obtain an import permit from the General Direction of Plant and Animal Health. This permit will be issued upon presentation of the following documents:
- Proof of vaccination against rabies, distemper, and parvovirus
- An original health certificate from a licensed veterinarian
Health Requirements
In addition to the import permit, your pet must meet the following health requirements:
- Be at least 3 months old
- Be microchipped
- Be free of any visible signs of disease
