Russell suffers Mercedes engine problems in Baku F1 practice
Mercedes driver George Russell has suffered engine problems during Friday practice for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Russell's car ground to a halt on track during the second practice session, with the team later confirming that the issue was related to the engine.
The team is now investigating the problem and will need to decide whether to change the engine before qualifying on Saturday.
If the engine is changed, Russell will receive a grid penalty for the race.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is one of the most challenging races on the Formula 1 calendar, and Mercedes will be hoping to have a trouble-free weekend in order to challenge for victory.
Russell is currently fourth in the drivers' championship, 34 points behind leader Max Verstappen of Red Bull.
