Will & Harper Review – 'An affectionate road-trip buddy-movie'
A spiritual sequel to the director's previous film, Will & Harper is a simple yet effective drama about two lost souls finding each other.
Will & Harper is the second feature film from director Tom Harper, following his 2016 debut The Falling. Like The Falling, Will & Harper is a character-driven drama that focuses on two people who are struggling to find their place in the world.
Will (Jack Reynor) is a young man who has just been released from prison. He's trying to get his life back on track, but he's struggling to find a job and a place to live. Harper (Alice Englert) is a young woman who is also struggling to find her place in the world. She's just graduated from college and is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life.
The two meet by chance at a bus stop. They start talking and quickly realize that they have a lot in common. They're both lost and alone, and they're both looking for a connection. They decide to travel together, and their journey takes them across the country. Along the way, they learn more about each other and they start to develop a close bond.
