Archer Sarita Kumari Storms to Quarterfinals at Paralympics

Indian archer Sarita Kumari made history on Friday by becoming the first Indian woman to reach the quarterfinals of the Paralympics

Kumari, competing on a debut Paralympics, defeated her Finnish opponent Pia Lamberg in the pre-quarterfinals of the women's individual compound archery event, securing a spot in the last eight.

This is a historic achievement for India, as no Indian woman has ever reached the quarterfinals of the Paralympics in archery before. The achievement is even more remarkable considering that Kumari is competing in her first Paralympics.

Kumari was in fine form throughout the match and shot consistently well. She started the match strongly by taking the first set 145-139. She then won the second set 144-133 to take a 2-0 lead.

In the third and fourth sets, Kumari continued to shoot well and take both sets, winning the match 142-139 and 142-137 respectively.

With this victory, Kumari has now secured a place in the quarter-finals, where she will face another Finnish archer, Jernvall Minna. The quarter-finals will be held on Saturday, August 28th.

Kumari's achievement is a testament to her hard work and dedication. She has been training hard for many years and has sacrificed a lot to reach this point. Her success is an inspiration to all Indians, and we wish her all the best in the quarter-finals.
